How To Root Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus

Step 1. Check Settings->About phone and check the model number of your Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus, it should be one in every of the listed below:

Galaxy S9 – SM-G960F, SM-G960F/DS, Korean SM-G960N, Chinese Qualcomm SM-G9600

Galaxy S9 Plus – SM-G965F, SM-G965F/DS, Korean SM-G965N, SM-G9650 Qualcomm

NOTE 1: U.S. models or any Qualcomm models ending in “U” can’t be rooted using this method because the bootloader is locked. My best suggestion is to sell it and buy a global model that has unlocked bootloader, any of the model numbers above will work.

NOTE 2: For Chinese Qualcomm models SM-G9600 or SM-G9650, you’ll follow this tutorial step-by-step only thing different is that the version of TWRP recovery, which isn’t provided during this tutorial(but simple Googling should facilitate your find it).

Step 4. If it’s been a minimum of 7-days since you purchased your Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus, you must see an option for “OEM unlocking”. If you’ll be able to turn it on without wiping data, act and have it off. If it asks you to try and do a factory reset, confirm to read the instructions below and also watch my video tutorial that explains step-by-step.

IMPORTANT:
If your Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus wants to try to reset factory settings, you will {be able to} have sex but don’t TRY IT AGAIN! After that, you have won to be able to flash TWRP recovery and wait for another 7 days!
This only happened to me on my new S9 so I had to attend 7 days AGAIN. How to fix?
When your phone reboots after selecting factory reset, IMMEDIATE VOLUME, BIXBY, and POWER buttons for about 5 seconds until you see the warning screen. Again, if you miss this important new step on your phone asking the user to reset the factory settings, you’ll need to wait 7 days.

Step 8. Run the ODIN program (after extracting). If you see a random COM number highlighted in blue as shown above, you have the driver installed. If not (most people), run the Samsung USB driver program you downloaded earlier and it will install the driver for you. After installation, you must view it. If not, try unplugging / re-connecting your USB cable.

Next, select AP, then select the TWRP img.tar file that you downloaded for Galaxy S9 or S9 +. Before hitting the start button, read below !!!

IMPORTANT:

As soon as you press Start, it only takes 5 seconds for the ODIN program to complete the flashing TWRP recovery process on your Galaxy S9 or S9 Plus. As soon as your phone restarts (the screen is blank), you want to bring DOWN BUTTON UP DOWNLOAD, BIXBY, AND IMMEDIATELY BUTTON!

If you devastate this step, you will COMPLETE THE SOFTWARE STOCK (unroot) AND have to CHANGE 7 DAYS. If this is usually your first time, please watch the instructional video and master the buttons before trying !!!

Step 10. Grab some base and tap on the back when you simply complete the hardest part of the platform. This may be because Samsung has implemented new security measures in which if the phone reboots into the system, it has earned you permission to install TWRP recovery. We will bypass this just by not letting the phone reboot into the system instead of TWRP recovery like we did in Step 8.

Next, we are going to wipe the device completely so tap on “Wipe”.

Step 18. If you see “Magisk isn’t installed”, re-install the OEM Issue Devices ZIP file by re-booting it into TWRP. If you don’t know the way to try to do this, watch 11:25 of the video tutorial that shows you ways step-by-step. If you see no errors like that skip to Step 19.

Step 19. If you see “update available” don’t INSTALL THE UPDATE! ONLY UPDATE Magisk Manager app(the one below it) because the Magisk used for rooting on Galaxy S9 or S9+ is different from official Magisk and it should brick your phone! But if you bought to the current point, you’re fully rooted!
